'The Family Meal - home cooking with Ferran...

The first classeS...
We are on our 3rd class and we aren't talking just about lexicon any more..
The first practical class (wednesdays) was pretty exciting and the theoretical ones (monday) have a lot of demonstrative moments - how to boill a perfect poached egg or how exactly to cut a vegetable on a la bouquetiere shape o.O =)).
We started the practical class doing the 'mise en place', and then we cut some vegetables on specifical geometrical pre defined shapes.
Number of knife injuries on the first practical class - 5/20 students! lol
It didn't happen to me, but my fingers are already all chopped cause of my work at the cafe /o\ def I need to be more careful..

The first class...
: We had some quick explanations about specific vocabulary (and in Spanish, which for me makes it even harder), some abbreviations and some words about our moral values as a cook.
: Oswald - the teacher- gave us the a book about professional techniques and (this was more exciting!) the material for the practical classes: chef jackets, kitchen rags and THE KNIVES!
: Next class will be kind of the same.. theoretical, because we aren't actually able to cook yet.
Even if I'm doing great it on the Cafe... But I'll do awesome then! o/
